Michigan students help with School Beautification Day!

As part of CFACT’s ongoing mission to advance the principle of stewardship among young people, students at Trenton High School in Michigan organized a school beautification day to clean up litter, leaves, and protect the local environment. CFACT High School Driessen Fellow Kara Howey helped coordinate the effort.

“Just finished our School Beautification Day,” Kara said in an email to CFACT. “We pulled weeds, picked up trash and trimmed all the bushes around my high school! I attached a picture of all of the trash and weeds we picked up.”

Throughout her tenure as a high school Driessen Fellow, Kara has championed organizing litter clean ups to show that conservatives actually put their care for the environment into action. Kara is graduating this Spring, and looks to attend either American University or Georgetown University in the fall. Look for big things in DC from Kara no matter what schools she ends up attending!

As Spring blooms, it is a great opportunity to do some “spring cleaning” of the local environment, park, or sidewalks near your school. Want to put an event together? Reach out to CFACT at [email protected]!
