CFACT students were recently back out improving the planet with another litter cleanup. Driessen Fellow HaiAn Hoang from University of Houston Downtown organized a group of youth to clean uptrash at the Dawson-Lunnon cemetery located in the Bayou City.
Half a dozen students took part in the project which resulted in the removal of a dozen bags of garbage. This graveyard is a state historical site. It’s a black cemetery dating to the mid nineteenth century when a freedman bought seven and a half acres which would eventually become the Dawson-Lunnon cemetery that is known today.
