CFACT caught attention of students at Vanderbilt by talking about global warming during an ice storm in Tennessee. Walking the building with a clipboard carrying flyers and surveys, students were happy to engage while shut in doors. Flyers were handed out as well as posted explaining free market environmentalism. In surveys students were asked, “Do you support hydraulic fracturing (fracking) as a key contributor to this country’s energy supply?” The fracking survey turned about 60/40 in favor out of 100. Overall, students were receptive to our ideas and interested in learning more. We also left them with handouts of our “Keep Calm Climate Changes” campaign along with Frack U going into further detail of our mission. If students on campus had not heard about CFACT before our arrival, they certainly do now!
