CFACT unwraps the gift of liberty at TPUSA’s Action Summit in FL

This holiday season, millions of Americans will enjoy the wonderful freedoms and prosperity our nation has to offer. Unfortunately, many young people take these blessings for granted.

That’s why CFACT helped sponsor Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit in West Palm Beach, FL. While interacting with the thousands of college students in attendance, CFACT helped educate college students to understand what has made our society so prosperous, and how to extend these benefits to even more people going forward.

Liberty, free markets, technological innovation, and property rights have all helped make the United States the most prosperous nation in the history of the world.

Clayton Smith, a CFACT volunteer, discusses hunting and property rights with attendees.

When it comes to our environment, the same principles of liberty apply. It is free markets that can save endangered species, make our energy use more efficient, and continue to keep our air and water clean.

“The students here at TPUSA’s national summit get it,” remarked Graham Beduze, CFACT’s Associate Collegians Director who led outreach efforts at the conference. “Students were excited to join CFACT in our mission to bring a positive voice of progress to campuses. This message advances both humans and nature in protecting our liberties and freedoms from radical green efforts.”

“I was involved with CFACT as well as other liberty-loving groups on campus back home in Louisiana,” said Clayton Smith, a CFACT volunteer. “I loved the opportunity to explain to students how important CFACT’s mission of free market environmentalism is and to encourage them to get more involved. Look for big things around the nation from CFACT after this conference.”

Among the speakers that the conference featured was none other than the President, Donald Trump, as well Rush Limbaugh, Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Candace Owens, Rudy Giuliani, Sean Hannity, Dave Rubin, Anna Paulina, and many more.

Radical environmentalists, media spokespeople, and especially certain presidential candidates like to paint a picture that the United States’ environment is in horrible condition – and we need socialism to solve it.

EPA data on declining air pollutants

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Air pollution levels are down. Since 1990, according to the EPA, almost every pollutant and particulate are decreasing.

Endangered species are making a comeback. Just look at the manatee which was recently declared no longer endangered under the Endangered Species Act.

As for CO2, whatever you think about it, natural gas through hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” has reduced America’s CO2 emissions significantly. Meanwhile, the so-called environmentalist ideal of Europe has seen their CO2 emissions rise despite signing on to the horrible Paris Climate Accord.

CFACT is growing around the country. With new student networks in California, Michigan, South Carolina, Illinois, and Arizona, look for more and more students to start advocating against carbon taxes and big government, and for liberty and free markets.
